Chelsea Citywide Tenants Association

The Chelsea Citywide Tenants Coalition works to organize tenants and form a strong coalition to work for tenants' rights and affordable housing. The group is composed of both public housing tenants and subsidized housing tenant. The coalition represents Chelsea public housing tenants in dealings with the Chelsea Housing Authority and other public entities; mobilizes tenants to protect, improve and expand public housing in our city. Chelsea Community Fund

The Chelsea Community Fund was established in December 1999 as the result of a community fundraising campaign that raised more than $750,000 in contributions and pledges from approximately 100 businesses, charitable foundations, the City of Chelsea and individuals. The Chelsea Community Fund Committee, a nine-member committee of community and donor representatives, reviews funding proposals and recommends grants to The Boston Foundation. More info.

Chelsea Green Space and Recreation Committe

Chelsea Green Space and Recreation Committe works to bring Environmental Justice to Chelsea through improving public access to our industrial waterfront. Chelsea Green Space was created in 1994, when the Chelsea Collaborative organized residents who were concerned about the city's lack of open space. Since its inception, Green Space has expanded the scope of its activities to encompass a wide range of environmental issues in Chelsea. More info.

Chelsea Latino Coalition

Chelsea Latino Coalition is made up Latino leaders, parents, churches, city officials, and police who have made a difference through creating community dialogue, identifying resources, education campaigns, and creating summer jobs for our youth. More info.

Chelsea Latino Immigrant Committee

The Chelsea Latino Immigrant Committee, formed in 1998, is a group of volunteers, immigrants, residents, priests, pastors, youth, and friends working to improve the quality of life of immigrants in Chelsea. The Committee was created to advocate, orient, and help on issues affecting the immigrant community with the proper information. More info.

Chelsea Youth Employment Initiative

The objective of the Chelsea Summer Youth Employment Initiative is to provide summer youth employment for 300 Chelsea youth in work settings that provide positive educational experiences and strong adult mentoring. Youth are aged 14 – 18 but the vast majority of them are aged 14 – 16. Worksites include non-profit agencies, private business, and City and State government agencies. Youth work 20 hours per week. They work at their worksites four days per week (16 hours) and participate in “Fifth Day” educational and enrichment activities on Friday. The overall orientation for the Fifth Day activities, and for the program as a whole, is to broaden youths’ horizons, develop good work habits, avoid violence and other trouble, and stay out of gangs. Chelsea United in Defense of Education (CUDE)

Chelsea United in Defense of Education is a group of parents from Chelsea working together to improve the education of our children in the Chelsea Public Schools. Our vision is to have a system that is dynamic and efficient and will welcome a true partnership between the parents, community and all of the educational institutions to the benefits of Chelsea students.
